                                                    Paul Kundtz is the Director of IT Operations for the Indian Health Service, an operational division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  He delivers national IT and health IT solutions supporting the IHS mission to improve the health of the American Indian and Alaska Native people.  Before joining the IHS in 2017, he was the Telehealth Infrastructure Program Manager at the Department of Veterans Affairs.  
Paul’s career started in the U.S. Army in the late 1990s, supporting the intelligence community. He transitioned to the private sector as a Department of Defense contractor and deployed to Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan for several years. His specialty is establishing data, voice, and video communications in austere environments. Paul is passionate about telehealth and efforts to bridge the digital divide in rural communities.
Paul earned a Master’s degree in Technology Management from George Mason University and a Certificate in Federal Executive Competencies from the Federal CIO University.
