Speaker Bio
Tom serves as Trusted Advisor and Consultant to the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) in the disciplines of Policy Analysis, and Governance, Risk and Compliance. He analyzes Presidential Executive Orders, Office of Management and Budget Circulars and Memoranda, CIO Council guidelines to formulate and execute required shifts in NCATS Policies, Practices and Processes. In this role he has institutionalized Information Technology Service Management processes and driven the development of an NCATS FITARA Clearance Acquisition Strategy aligned and underpinned with a technology platform built for today and designed to scale. This latter accomplishment is an outgrowth of Tom’s concomitant mission to seek out and surface technology built to meet resource and budgetary pressures of tomorrow while meeting the challenges of today.
Tom leverages the experiences gained from multiple global executive roles in Financial Services, and as the Global Director of Enterprise Resources Planning Services to meet Federal Agency challenges. He has also trained and certified 200+ Federal Civilian, Intelligence and Contractor staff in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations.
As a member of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) since 2007, Tom has presented training on “How FITARA Improves Cybersecurity” to members of ISACA’s Central Maryland Chapter. He has served as a Board Director of the British-American Business Association of Washington, DC since 2005, and co-chair of their Health and Life Sciences Committee.
