Joan Winchester is a writer and researcher with the Maximus Center for Health Literacy. She specializes in writing in plain language and developing and conducting consumer testing. Ms. Winchester provides group training and presentations on plain language, health and health insurance literacy, and consumer testing. Before joining the Center, Ms. Winchester was a Reading Specialist in Alexandria, Virginia, where she received the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Education Award.
