Description

11:00 AM     Welcome Back to the 2020 Women Veterans Leadership and Diversity Conference

11:10 AM     I'm a Survivor, Claire Russo, Marine Corps Veteran

  • Military sexual assault is the elephant in the room, and it has become like a plague amongst the women who served and sacrificed for our country, as well as those who continue to serve. When women sign up to serve and protect their country, their country should protect them and, at the very least, stand beside them and with them in their times of need. This is not the case, however, when it comes to military sexual trauma survivors.
The session will highlight the devastating reality of military sexual trauma and how one brave woman veteran faught back in the court of law and won a civil case against her violator.
It's time to stand up and fight back!

11:40 AM     Empowered Women Empower Women Veterans

  • Contrary to popular belief, women can work together, as proven by this dynamic panel of empowered women CEOs and corporate executives who steadfastly empower women veterans through the mission of Women Veterans Interactive. This conversation will peel back the layers on why these women of power give back to the women who have served our country, how they give back, and why they feel its important to give back to this unique population.

Panelists:

  • Beth Coyne, Director of Operations, B3 Group
  • Naina Leo, Chief Growth Officer, Attain LLC, and President, AFCEA Bethesda

12:30 PM     Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are- Women Veterans Stand Up!, Taiesa Lashley, Army Veteran, Ms. Black Internatioanl Ambassador

  • After serving in the military and when the uniform comes off for the last time, women veterans overwhelmingly feel that their dedication and service to their country disappears with the uniform. It's time to break that stigma! It's time for women veterans to stand up and claim our military service!

1:00 PM     Don't Just Show Up- Show Out

1:30 PM     Know Your Worth, Your Competition, and Who's Buying

  • We've all heard the old saying, "Know Your Worth," but honestly, in business, knowing your worth is not merely enough to be successful. Once you know your worth, you must learn how compete. Yes, successful women never shy away from competition; in fact, successful women become the competition. However, knowing your worth and mastering your competitive advantage means nothing if you don't know who's buying.
This session will encourage women veteran entrepreneurs to stay in the fight, overcome obstacles, and, most imortantly, inspire women veterans to become winners in business.

Panelists:

  • Tabitha Turman, President and CEO, Integrated Finance and Accounting Solutions, LLC.
  • Martha Daniel, President and CEO, Information Management Resources, Inc.
  • Moderator: Ginger Miller, President and CEO, Women Veterans Interactive
