The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides health coverage for more than 136 million people in the United States. The agency produces an enormous amount of data on beneficiaries, which account for over 40 percent of the nation’s population, as well as providers and other related information. With rapid advancements in data architecture, storage and analysis, and implementation of a user-centered approach, CMS is poised to use data in new and innovative ways. In this session, our expert panelists will discuss how CMS is leveraging its data, the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL), and what’s next for the agency.

Potential topics include:

  • Driving future policies and program decisions with data
  • Empowering users across components
  • Improving operational efficiency using “self-service” access
  • Removing data silos and duplicate information systems to create a workforce “data-cated” to the use of data analytics and tools

The Increased Importance of Effective Health Literacy Communications Since COVID-19
